We here at Stage Clear Studios wish both of our listeners a happy new years. With 2009 now almost literally "in the bag" we figured it was worth 90 minutes of our and your time to look both back and forward.
So this special includes an extended preview of all the games of 2010 we're looking forward to. Oh man it's going to be a cracking year. Then once that's done we bring you the most prestigious set of gaming awards for 2009: The Clearies!

A point you bring up in this
A point you bring up in this episode is how little the Liquid/Ocelot thing is.
The game does explain somewhere in a way that makes perfect sense and fits in with the game's theme.
I believe it might only be explicitly stated in the MGS4-infospam database (on the PSN), but the truth is that the game is hinting at the explaination that Perrin gives:

The game is hinting that Ocelot is channeling Liquid, as he is the son of The Sorrow. But this is a ruse on Ocelot's part - in theme with his repeated double-agent status throughout the game, Ocelot is manipulating events. The Liquid-thing is an act, intended to force the Patriots and Snake to follow the scheme he's designed.

You're going to think this is pretentious shite, probably. But as a fan, I really enjoyed this twist (when I found it) that resolves one of the biggest stretches of possibility in the series.

Good point on Drake = male Lara, he's much better. The standout moment of Uncharted 2 wasn't the village for me, it was the scene with Jeff the cameraman. It was a very touching segment that summed up who Drake is, and it's something you couldn't imagine Lara doing as she's too cardboard.
