Over 90 minutes of E3 wafflery await you inside the very first Stage Clear season break special. We cover all the best and worst of E3. There's lots of great stuff we're really looking forward to, there's some stuff we're watching carefully and hoping for the best and some stuff just has us pissing ourselves. I just have Stage Clear on in the background, it's like a bit of company, I just like the sound of chattering voices. Didn't take anything in. Best one so far.

Good podcast guys, you pretty

Good podcast guys, you pretty much touched on all the bases! I was expecting a 'Failure of the show' segment to compliment the best and maybe, you kinda shat on all the driving games (including the upcoming, definitive Forza title, which is so definitive, it's definitive!) that took care of that business. I am interested in Natal and think it was an impressive demo and a bold step above the Wii and Playstations motion control efforts, but we need to see it fully functional before we can sing its praises or curse its shortcomings. The trouble is though, the wii had this from the start and every game is tuned for it if not specifically designed for the wiimotes use. I have the feeling that for at least the first year of Natals retail life, it'll be limited to wii-style party games and sports, not even some of the games demoed in the intro video will probably make it out. 'Normal' games will probably not include a Natal control system for a long, long time. Whilst I love the concept and the ambition, we all know it's going to be fairly useless in practice for quite some time initially.

I look forward to a summer gaming special, it's quite rare for so many games (some of which have been great and others that have the potential to be great) to come out beftween April and October. It's a shame there are still about 20 titles coming out in Q4, so my wallet still can't catch a break with a spread out summer schedule.

Also, just to say about the

Also, just to say about the Nintendo Vitality Sensor, it does indeed seem like a daft, pointless peripheral, however I have been thinking about it today and there could be some potential for it's use in horror/action games. Imagine a silent hill game or maybe a sequel to eternal darkness that measures how scared you were by monitoring your pulse? Imagine a game mechanic that alters itself depending on how calm you remain, jacking up the difficulty and/or scares. Perhaps it could even completely alter the actual game play and controls, like if your pulse is high, it's harder to aim as your character is a shaking bundle of nerves? Things like that could be interesting, but I have the funny feeling that the Sensor will be used just for fitness games and hypnotic colour-flashing screensavers.

Saying all that, it'd probably be a bit hard to play a game with your index finger stuck in a plastic thimble.
